USE IT EVERYDAY.. Love this, got it on a subscription to save even more money. Taste isn't the greatest at first, but one gets used to it. I'm at a point where I feel that it tastes like chocolate.. Its packed with protein, and good for you. What else is needed to say.. Big tub, I thought it was way smaller. Works well. |

Taste, Mixability, Price Sweet Spot |

This powder is great for what I use it for, which is post-workout recovery drinks in a shaker bottle and smoothies in a blender. It mixes easily in the shaker bottle, tastes great, and won't break the bank. |

Good nutrient profile, but artificial taste |
I like the relatively low-carbohydrate profile of this powder compared to some others. I also like that, according to Consumer Reports, it contains lower levels of heavy metals than comparable whey powders.
However, it has an annoyingly artificial taste, probably due to the artificial sweeteners and possibly partly due to the artificial vanilla flavor.
I thought about switching to Optimum Nutrition's "Natural" whey powder, which doesn't use artificial sweeteners, but I didn't like that the Natural version contains more carbohydrate (and sugar) per serving than this one.
The best alternative I've found is Whole Foods' store-brand whey protein powder. Like the Optimum Nutrition powder, it's relatively low-carb, but it achieves this by using stevia extract as a (zero-calorie, natural) sweetener as opposed to Optimum Nutrition's sucralose and acesulfame K. Due to that and, I suppose, its use of natural vanilla flavor, the Whole Foods whey powder doesn't have the artificial taste that the Optimum Nutrition powder has. |

Optimum Nutrition is the only whey I will buy. I have tried other brands, but none of them offer the taste, high protein content and quality that ON does for the price. I have tried TONS of their flavors, but my favorites are: Extreme Milk Chocolate, Double Milk Chocolate, Banana Cream (tastes like banana laffy taffy), Mocha Cappachino and Vanilla Ice Cream. These are all delicious flavors that I can handle in large quantities (as you get when buying 5lbs of the stuff). Bottom line - this stuff tastes great for a great price and will help you reach your fitness goals if used with proper diet and lifting. |

One of the best proteins for the price |

Ive been using this for years now. The taste is mediocre when mixed with ice cold water it is much more tolerable than room temperature water. But that is something you get used to and just ignore as the months of drinking this stuff go by. This is the highest quality protein I have found and amazon has it at the best price! |
